3D Printing

Overview
Automated quality assurance based on SoA requirement profiles and extended by basic scientific research based on built-in and extended plant sensor technology with a view to digital solutions for FFF technology.
As is situation
Today's 3D printing systems have a large number of sensors and thus monitor certain machine parameters by default. However, this data is not recorded in its entirety or used for general quality monitoring. Especially in the field of additive manufacturing with semi-crystalline materials, as this try-and-error approach can lead to high scrap costs in the event of aborted or failed print jobs.
With the use of higher-quality materials, the demands on quality monitoring also increase, along with the equally increasing demands on the application areas of the components to be printed.
Description of the task / objective
- Quality assessment and documentation based on a complete digital process chain → Issue of an automated quality certificate
- Digital linking of all relevant process steps
- Efficient use of materials
