Digital lightweight production as central research and development focus

The production of composite structures requires high effort, due to the design and complexity of the manufacturing processes. Increasing the robustness and quality of the production processes while simultaneously increasing profitability and sustainability through digitalisation is to be regarded as the central goal of LaiLa.

Key research questions are aimed at the modeling and networking of production systems, which are supported and optimised by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Consequently, research topics are addressed along the entire value chain from data acquisition, storage, use, processing as well as transfer back into the production systems.
